Pakistani electronic media is to witness another channel that aims to surpass the highly rated TV channel of the country, Geo TV. BOL Channel is set to begin its transmission by the end of the following year. With advertisements of it being done on new media, people have shown keen interest in the launching of the channel. Advertisement Indian media have calimed that the channel would be backed by none other than the gangster turned terrorist, Dawood Ibrahim and Pakistan’s Intelligence Agency. However, the official sponsorship for the mega channel would be done by the Pakistan’s vibrant software house company Axact. Many have alleged that Axact is involved in granting fake degree and doing work with porn websites, which Axact has denied. Funding for the channel would be done by the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, father-in-law of the legendary cricketer Javed Miandad’s daughter. These days he is said to be based in Delhi. However he has his villa located in Karachi’s Clifton area. BOL Channel attempts to carry out his planning of attracting the known media figures, anchors by offering them hefty amounts as much as 10 million per month along with the luxurious, extravagant expenditures. Around 40,000 applications are said to be registered in favor of the channel after advertisements appeared on new media about its launching.
