Earthquake jolts part of KP, GB

PESHAWAR: An earthquake of moderate intensity jolted parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan in the wee hours of Monday but no loss of life or infrastructure was reported. According to meteorological department, tremors measuring 5.7 on Richter scale were felt in Swat, Mardan, adjoining areas and in district Ghizer of Gilgit-Baltistan. People of the areas were sleeping at the time when tremors struck. They rushed out of their homes in panic. Met office said the epi-centre of earthquake was in Eastern Kashmir in Shaksgham Valley.
