Energy deficit rises to 2200 MW


LAHORE: The energy deficit of the country increased to 2200 MW on Sunday - ARY News reports.

According to a representative of the National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC), the country's energy production is 11,000 MW whereas the power need is 13,200.

He further stated that load shedding is being done due to the problems in the Hub Power Company and and Lal Pir Power Plants. He added that 3500 MW is being received from hydal Power, 1850 from thermal and 5650 MW of electricity is being received from IPPs.
