Enraged MPAs clash over petty issues in K-P Assembly

PESHAWAR: A scuffle broke out between members of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on a seemingly petty matter on Monday, Express News reported. A session of K-P Assembly had been specially convened on Monday following a request by the opposition leaders after a series of powerful blasts in Peshawar claimed close to 150 lives in a week. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Nighat Orakzai in the session was seen going up to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Soran Singh who, according to video filmed during the session, was heatedly delivering a speech. Orakzai was seen gesturing at him angrily and even attempted to throw a punch in Singh’s direction while Singh went on with his tirade. Other parliamentarians tried to break up the two MPAs while some watched on, amused at the unusual happening. Later, Orakzai said that Singh had gotten “over-enthusiastic” while delivering his speech and had started to address her informally. “He kept referring to me as tum (you),” said the MPA.
