JUI-F chief terms KP govt a failure

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Condemning the killing of provincial Minister for Law Sardar Israrullah Khan Gandapur, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led coalition government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had failed due to its flawed policies.

He was talking to reporters after meeting with Maulana Allauddin of Madrassa Naumania here. Engineer Ziaur Rehman, Mufti Irfan, Prof Waheeduddin and Maulana Samiullah were also present on the occasion.

The Maulana expressed sorrow over the death of Israrullah Gandapur and said the slain minister was an active and devoted politician. He said his death was a great loss to the province. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was currently in the grip of the worst type of terrorism due to the ill-conceived policies of the provincial government.

“This government is at the mercy of the non-governmental organisations In fact, it too has become an NGO,” he argued.

Maulana Fazlur Rahman said the US had massacred thousands of Muslims in Afghanistan for its vested interest but was claiming to be promoting peace there.

He said the US was neither sincere in holding talks with the Afghan Taliban nor withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan. He said the US should change its policies towards Islam and Pakistan.

He said that hopefully the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the US would be in the larger interest of the country.
