PESHAWAR: Keeping in view the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a comprehensive security plan has devised to avert any untoward incident during the 10 days of Ashura.
The local administration has constantly making contacts with religious organizations, trader unions and other religious sects to take into confidence about the proposed security plan for the Muharram. The sale of chemical, diesel, petroleum, acid will be strictly banned, while movement of Afghan refugees will also be limited under the security plan.
Similarly, exhibiting of weapons, wall chalking, speeches on loudspeakers, and distribution and sale of CDs, pamphlets, booklets, inciting religious disharmony will be also banned under this plan.
During 10 days of Muharram, personnel of police and law enforcement agencies would be deployed at all sensitive locations, and Imambargahs, while walk through gates will be installed at routes heading towards the Imambargahs, said Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Zaheerul Islam while talking to reporters here on Saturday. The Deputy Commissioner Peshawar said the Pak Army will be standby to control any worst situation during Ashura. He said that directives being issued to Municipal Corporation Peshawar, to keep cleanliness, and other arrangements for the Muharram.
