KP govt fully committed to its promises: Khattak


PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak Saturday, said that Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) contested elections as an anti-status quo force and is committed to the pledged reforms in the existing system of corruption, injustice and mismanagement. Khattak expressed these views while addressing a meeting of the provincial ministers, divisional and district presidents and general secretaries of PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Peshawar. The Chief Minister also urged upon the party office bearers and workers to be united and start preparation for the upcoming Local Bodies election in an organized and effective manner. He also stressed the need to follow the party discipline with special reference to the said elections. “The KP government’s very first priority is to bring change and the petty matters will be tackled afterwards, once the existing system is replaced with a public-friendly and service-oriented one”, the CM remarked.
The Local Bodies system bill after being approved by provincial cabinet soon be tabled in the provincial legislature and soon after being approved from the provincial assembly, schedule for the local bodies election will be announced, Mr. Khattak added. Parvez Khattak further said that this unique local bodies system will truly empower the local community in administrative as well as financial matters, adding that people at grass root level will have all the powers in affairs of their schools, hospitals, police stations and other social service. The Chief Minister directed the district presidents of the party to establish public complaint cells in their respective districts and to connect them with the complaint cell established at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar so that people could easily register and communicate their complaints to the provincial government for necessary action. “The restoration of peace and maintenance of law and order was the top priority of our government for which the police department is being strengthened and the provincial government will never interfere in the affairs of the department”, Parvez Khattak told. Speaker provincial assembly, Asad Qaiser, General Secretary and Provincial Minister, Shaukat Yousafzai and head of PTI’s provincial Secretariat, Ishfaq Paracha, also attended the meeting.
