Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health, Shaukat Ali Yusufzai, has suspended Gynea Professor Dr Gulrukh Qazi and Senior Registrar, Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Gymea Dr Sumaira for not attending their duties and directed inquiry against Medical Superintendent (MS), Dr Iqbal Afridi. Issuing directives in this regard, the minister declared the refusal of the doctors to attend the hospital in emergency as intolerable. The action against the Medical Superintendent was taken in the wake of the refusal of the doctors to come to hospital in emergency when a poor boy was brought to the casualty of LRH unconscious.
The administration of the hospital called senior doctors, but they declined to come. On the directives of the minister the poor boy has been shifted to a room in Boltan Block.
