JUI-F Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has asked the PTI government in the province to instead of the imposition of foreign agenda it should consult all political parties before introducing of a local government in the provincial assembly. The demand was made during a joint meeting of the provincial executive committee, district and Tehsil chiefs of the party held here with Maulana Sheikh Amanullah in the chair.
Those who attended were included Qari Abdullah, Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman, Akram Khan Durrani, Abdul Jalil Jan, Shams-ur-Rehman Shamsi, Asif Iqbal, Sahibzada Khalid Jan, Amanat Shah, Senator Ghulam Ali, Qazi Ayaz, members provincial assembly Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman, Maulana Asmatullah, Maulana Gohar Shah, Qari Mohammad Yousuf MNAs, Sahibzada Aziz Ahmed and others.
During the meeting Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman briefed the participants regarding decisions taken in the Committee on Local Government and provincial executive committee.
Revealing the decisions taken in the meeting, provincial secretary information, Abdul Jalil Jan said that the provincial executive had fully allowed district office-bearers for making seat adjustment or alliance with other political parties and groups for upcoming local bodies' polls in the province.
Qazi Ayaz and Asif Iqbal while highlighting the importance and details of the party decisions regarding upcoming local bodies system expressed reservations over the system introduced by the provincial government. They termed non-party based grass-root level polls and abolition of the union council the stubbornness of the government.
The meeting demanded of the provincial government for the presentation of Local Government Bill after holding consultations with opposition parties.
JUI-F chief, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman also addressed the executive committee and briefed it on national situation, ongoing efforts for restoration of peace and particularly his recent visit to Afghanistan.
He said West and Europe has embarked on the war of civilisation while Muslims had adopted defensive position. He added that in the name of terrorism, the West is committing the genocide of Muslims. He said that under a specific agenda Islamic ideology and priority are being threatened in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the whole system of the province has been handed over to non-governmental organisations.
