A meeting of the Select Committee on Information Department’s “ Right to Information Bill 2013” was held under the chairmanship of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations, Shah Farman at the Conference Room of the Assembly in Peshawar on Monday.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Imtiaz Shahid, MPAs Syed Jaffar Shah, Shah Hussain Khan, Arbab Akbar Hayat, Amna Sardar, Qurban Ali, Muhammad Ali besides Advocate General, Secretary Information Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Secretary Law Muhammad Arifeen and other concerned officers.
The meeting discussed the proposed amendments in the Right to Information bill. The meeting also held detail discussion on the access to Information by the common man ,establishment of good governance , transparency of government affairs and performance of democratic institutions.
The meeting concluded with decision that the RTI Bill would be finalized in the next meeting of select committee for its subsequent presentation before the provincial assembly.
