PTI staged a portest demo against oil prices

Activists of ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa staged a protest demonstration here outside press club, against the surging prices of petroleum products and inflation, demanding of the federal government to immediately withdrawn the fresh hike in POL products and power tariff.

The protest demonstration was headed by the PTI provincial assembly member, Arif Yousuf, Union Council 35 president Mohammad Saleh, General Secretary Abdul Wajid Khalil and workers. The participants were holding placards and banners inscribed slogans against the recent increase in prices of petroleum, commodities and increasing price hike with each passing day.

Talking to media persons, the protesters asked the incumbent PML-Nawaz-led government to fulfil its pre-election commitments and to make effective steps for containing the prices of petroleum and essential daily usage commodities. Slamming the presentation of mini budget and imposition of new indirect taxes on the poverty and terrorism stricken masses, they termed the move was an anti-masses, and should refrain from any such policies. The protesters warned that if the demands were not fulfilled, the protest movement would further be extended to other parts of the province.
