Solution to Kashmir issue key to peace: Inayat

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtun-khwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Inayatullah Khan Sunday said that resolution of Kashmir dispute in line with the UN resolutions was key to restore peace in the region.

Addressing a seminar on the Black Day to express solidarity with Kashmiris, the minister said that Kashmir was part of Pakistan and the government should not step back on the principled stance on the issue. The seminar was organised by the culture department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Archives Hall.

He said that sincere efforts should be made to free Kashmir from Indian occupation irrespective of party affiliations.The minister was of the opinion that the Kashmir dispute, if not resolved, could pose serious threat to global peace. “Therefore if is the most emergent need of the hour to resolve the issue amicably,” he added.

He stressed that everyone should play a positive role for the resolution of the issue. He said that the people and government of Pakistan should support the Kashmiri brothers in their freedom struggle.

Inayatullah expressed his optimism that the sacrifices of the people of Kashmir would result in the success of their struggle for freedom one day. Secretary Culture Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Dr Adnan Sarwar, Prof Sarfaraz Khan, Dr Dost Mohammad and others also spoke on the occasion. The seminar was followed by a walk to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
