Turkish delegates offer investment in KP’s potential sectors

PESHAWAR, Oct 11: A delegation of the Turk investors led by Turgut Puyan called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at CM Secretariat Peshawar on Friday and offered investment in various sectors including Education, Health, Hygiene and Urban Development. The Turkish delegates also invited the Chief Minister to visit Turkey to see the pace of progress there by himself and explore ways and means of mutual cooperation. Senior Minister Irrigation Sikander Shepao, Minister LG& RD Inayatullah Khan, Rafqat Ullah Baber, Economic Advisor to Chief Ministe Sheheryar Afridi MNA, Chief Secretary Shehzad Arbab, Additional Chief Secretary, Administrative secretaries of various departments, Commissioner Peshawar and heads of Municipal Cooperation Peshawar, PDA and other bodies were also present on the occasion.
Head of the delegation told that besides inviting the Chief Minister on Turkey Tour, they were also visiting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to invite the investors, Industrialist and Traders of the province to participate in the 3-Day International Tuskon Trade and Investment Conference being held at Istanbul Turkey from Nov 25 to 27, 2013.

Pervez Khattak thanked the delegation said that exchange of trade delegation among the two brotherly Muslim countries was need of the hour so that mutual trade and cultural relations could be promoted at peoples level.

He appreciated the role of Pak-Turk Schools in improving the standard of education. He said that his government was pursuing the agenda of changing every social sector including education wherein uniformity was being brought about both in the standard and syllabus of the education to make it equally accessible for rich and poor.

He said certain solid steps have been taken in this regard. Similarly he said that concrete steps have been taken for improving the City Development and Municipal services so that the cleanliness in the cities and Bazars could be ensured while the encroachment and traffic jam problems could be resolved for good.
The Chief Minister said the PTI government was endeavoring to lay solid foundation for trade and industry in the province for which comprehensive strategy has been adopted. 

He said that cooperation of the friendly countries including Turkey could be highly valued in this regard. He directed for arranging meetings among the administrative secretaries of various department with the Turk delegation to explore avenues of investment and cooperation.
