Hospitals, BHUs: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister orders filling of vacant posts of doctors

KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed the health authorities for filling vacant posts lying in government hospitals and basic health units (BHUs) and ordered to provide basic health facilities to the people at their door steps. He issued these directives while talking to a 35-member delegation from Mardan district who called on him under the leadership of MPA Tufail Anjum at the CM Secretariat here on Thursday. 

The delegation briefed the chief minister of their problems and difficulties being faced by the people of Katlang and other far-flung areas in regarding to health, education, law and order and irrigation. The chief minister issued directives for resolution of people's problems.
The chief minister while taking notice of the shortage of hospital staff, including doctors, and lack of other basic facilities in some far-flung health centres for long time, ordered to bring improvement in the situation with immediate effect, otherwise, stern action would be taken against officials concerned. He asked the health department officials to improve their performance. 

The chief minister expressed his displeasure over non-utilisation of resources and said it was a matter of great concern for him and his government that despite the availability of allocated resources no timely measures were taken to improve the efficiency of doctors and basic health facilities. However, the KP chief minister said public grievances and complaints shall be redressed.
