Mamnoon Hussain asks new KPK governor to focus on restoration peace, socio economic development in FATA

ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday.

The President felicitated him on assuming his new responsibilities as Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and expressed hope that he will lead moral and political support to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa especially FATA in their quest for restoration of peace, stability and development.


The President said that Government accords special attention towards the socio- economic development and uplift of the tribal areas and various measures and initiatives are being taken for removing the sense of deprivation of the people of FATA and bringing them into the mainstream of national life.

The President advised the newly appointed governor to focus on restoration of peace in the tribal area, bringing in socio economic development to FATA and leading from the front the ongoing efforts for eradication of the crippling disease, polio from the tribal belt.

Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi , who yesterday took oath as Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, thanked the President for the huge confidence reposed in him and assured that he will do all his best to rise to the expectations of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.
