Pakistan offers investment opportunities in energy sector: Abid

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water & Power, Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali Thursday said that Pakistan offered conducive and friendly investment opportunities to the foreign investors in the energy sector.

He said this while talking to the Danish Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Jesper who called on him.

According to a press release issued here, they discussed matters of mutual interest regarding power sector and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field.

Abid said Pakistan energy sector was facing acute challenges adding that present government was fully committed to deal with these challenges. He said that the government had started a number of new power projects.

"The future of Pakistan Energy sector depends upon the success of these ongoing and future projects," the Minister said.

He also expressed his desire to further strengthen the mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Danish Ambassador H.E. Jesper Moller Sorensen appreciated the conducive and friendly investment environment provided by the present government in Pakistan.

He also expressed his hopes that Danish companies would invest in Pakistan's energy sector.
