Pakistan School all set to open new branch in Seeb

Muscat: Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) on Wednesday announced that it will be opening a new branch of the school at Seeb, which will become functional from the first week of May 2014.

A new branch of the school is coming up after 22 years — the PSM's last branch was opened in Mussanah in the year 1992.

Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, Javaid Iqbal Chaudhary, chairman of the Board of Directors of Pakistan Schools, said that the long awaited project would come as a boon for school children in Seeb and its adjoining areas as they had to travel to PSM Muscat for studies. "Many have been travelling to PSM Muscat, spending a lot of time and effort every day. Since the tragic accident involving the PSM-bound bus in the last week of January 2014, the struggle became even stronger. The school is all set to throw open its doors for students from kindergarten to standard eight," Chaudhary said.

The Seeb branch will begin functioning from May 4, starting off with KG I and KG II classes. "Afterwards, senior students from Pakistan School Muscat up to class VIII will be shifted to the Pakistan School Seeb step by step," the chairman announced.

Approximately 250 students will join the Seeb branch in addition to those waiting to obtain admissions as soon as the facility is available. "We hope to accommodate around 500 students there," the chairman said.

Pakistan School Management has decided to open a registration counter at PSM Muscat from April 17, where the Principal of PS Seeb will be available for new admissions. "The admission fee in the last two weeks of April 2014 will be waived off completely while the school will charge half of the stipulated admission fee in the first two weeks of May, that is till May 15, 2014," the chairman said. Samina Khan will lead the pioneer staff that has already been inducted.
