CCTV cameras to be installed in Peshawar

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government decides to install Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), to keep checking on moment of suspects and counter terrorists' attack in the provincial metropolis Peshawar. These CCTVs will be monitored through a fully equipped operation room, as the camera will be installed at public places, crowded trade centres and sensitive places, according to the police officials. 

At least eight cameras are to be installed in different sections of the police stations and outside the buildings with a purpose to keep a tight vigil over movement of suspected persons. Besides, to have a check on the activities inside the lock-up and offices of station house officers and moharrir also. To keep an eye on police stations, these cameras have also been connected with the office of the capital city police officer and IGP. Now, the KPK government has decided to install more cameras at sensitive places in Peshawar in view of the recent terror attacks, particularly the bombings in Qissa Khawani and a church in Kohati Gate locality. 

The sources said that after the installation in Peshawar, the CCTVs more cameras would also be installed at police stations all over the province. The CCTVs will be connected to the office of the concerned district police officer and IGP Meanwhile, capital city police got seven new station house officers (SHOs) replacing the old ones. Those, who are posted, include Sikandar Khan as SHO Paharipura, Karam Ilahi as SHO Hashtnagri, Zafar Ali as SHO Regi Model Town, Zafar Khan as SHO Mathra, Zubair Khan as SHO Phandu and Gul Wali as SHO Gulberg. The SHOs of the Hashtnagri, Mathra, Paharipura and Phandu are directed to report to the Police Lines.
