Minister among eight killed in suicide attack

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law, Israrullah Khan Gandapore and seven others were killed and 20 others injured in a suicide attack in Kulachi on Wednesday, the first day of Eidul Azha. According to police, the suicide bomber went into the Hujra of Minister Israrullah Khan Gandapore, who was busy in Eid greetings with his supporters and local residents of the area, when the suicide bomber blew himself up amid the guests. 
The injured and bodies of the victims were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital DHQ, D I Khan. Late Israrullah Khan Gandapore was the scion of the influential Gandapore family and the son of late former chief minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Inayatullah Khan Gandapore. He was elected three times consecutively from the provincial assembly constituency PK-67 in the by-elections of 2002, 2008 and 2013. In May 2013 polls, he was elected as independent member of KP and later joined Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf and was assigned the important portfolios of law and parliamentary affairs. 
President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussein, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have condemned the attack while Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has sought the report of the incident from the KP Inspector General of Police. Furthermore, KP Governor Shaukatullah Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had also strongly condemned the attack and expressed their deep grief and sorrow over the killing of Israrullah Khan Gandapore. 
Meanwhile, the FIR of the Eid Day suicide attack in Kulachi has been registered against unknown culprits with Police Station Kulachi. The law-enforcement agencies have started investigation into the incident. The responsibility of the incident is reportedly claimed by banned organisation, Ansar-ul-Mujahideen.
