CM directives to expedite working of departments, says spokesman

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has said Chief Minister Pervez Khattak directed the ministers, advisors and special assistants to submit summaries to him directly so that the working of the government departments could be improved and expedited and the general public provided timely relief. Referring to the news item that appeared in The News on Wednesday, the chief minister’s spokesman Shiraz Paracha said the step was taken to remove unnecessary hurdles in the resolution of problems facing the people. He contended that the chief minster’s decision was according to the rules of business and the spirit of the 18th Amendment.Meanwhile, according to a handout, Shiraz Paracha said it was the topmost priority of the chief minister to quickly dispose of summaries and files relating to the official matters of public interest. It was, therefore, decided to send summaries of the government departments directly to the chief minister for proper and timely action, he added. Shiraz Paracha said the decision was aimed at removing unnecessary delay in the approval of summaries and there was no political aim behind it. “It was a general observation that month-long delays occurred in the preparation and approval of summaries,” he argued.
