Doctors seek prevention from kidnapping

PESHAWAR - Expressing concern over surge kidnapping, the Doctors’ Association asked the PTI-led provincial government to net abductors and provide protection to their colleagues.
Speaking to the media, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa doctors raped the government for its failure in rein in kidnappers.


The office-bears Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Doctors Association, including Dr Sher Zaman, Dr Bakhtiar, Dr Amir Taj, Dr Umar and Dr Salman, told the media that the kidnapping of doctors for ransom was on the rise and authorities were dragging their feet over the matter.

Dr Mujahid, went missing two months ago while Dr Kamran was also picked up from Hayatabad on October 3, the media was told.

Moreover, they said that over 60 doctors so far did received "Parchi" of extortionists, which has created great unrest among the community.

He said that the areas where doctors' private clinics and hospitals were located were completely unsecured. Mr Zaman said that government and police should take adequate security steps for the security of doctors' community and seriously take the increasing 'Parchi culture'.

The community warned to launch a protest campaign by holding strike at all teaching hospitals against the administration, if the provincial government did not considered their demands seriously.
