ERKF distributes Rs eight million cheques to 16 crisis-hit SMEs

A cheque distribution ceremony under the Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) Economic Revitalisation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata (ERKF) was held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI), the other day. President KPCCI Zahidullah Shinwari distributed cheques amounting to Rs 8 million in 16 crisis-hit SMEs of the province. 

Addressing the ceremony, President KPCCI appreciated the role of Smeda in the promotion of entrepreneurship and facilitation of business community in the strengthening of their businesses. Those present on the occasion were included former president, KPCCI and Director, Smeda, Adeel Rauf and a large number of industrialists and traders. 

The participants also appreciated the performance of Smeda, when president KPCCI requested the business community to bring forward any complaint against the authority. They also termed the measure of the provincial government and Smeda for the assistance of the terrorism and flood affected as highly commendable and positive act and step forward towards the revival of the terror-torn economy of the province. Adeel Rauf highlighted the performance and working of Smeda that under the ERKF project the authority has already approved a grant of Rs 454 million for 610 SMEs of the province. 

Provincial Chief Smeda Javed Iqbal Khattak briefed the procedure of filing applications for grant under ERKF project and assured that under the programme the genuine affected SMEs are being extended financial assistance. He also urged the business community to bring genuine cases forward for maintaining standard and transparency in the distribution of grants under the project.
