Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government approves comprehensive security plan

A comprehensive security plan has been approved for improving intelligence sharing, information and performance of police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has prepared 11-point agenda to trace out terrorists elements and improve the performance of police in the province, senior police officials said. 

According to comprehensive security strategy, the officials said that district intelligence units, re-organisation of police station, positive reforms in Police department, equipping police with modern weapons and facilities, establishing a working group, improving traffic management, introducing traffic warden system in provincial headquarters, re-organisation of police training branch, re-organisation of FIP, re-organisation of Elite police force, division of Malakand and Hazara in four separate administrative unites, replacing levies forces with police in Malakand. Similarly, the officials said a legal unit in Police department will also be created to help the police in various legal issues. 

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak, had already been approved a policy, however after its implementation, Home department and police will send summary to chief minister in next few days, the officials informed. Meanwhile, the Peshawar police also chalked out a security plan, to avert any untoward incident on eve of Eid-ul-Azha. The vacation of police force has been cancelled while special duties have been assigned to the city police for Eid days. Two to three police personnel would perform duty outside the big mosques of the city while police officials in plain cloths would also be deputed to keep close watch over suspected elements inside mosques during big congregations of Eid prayer. 

Police will also be deployed at Army Stadium, Tatara Park, Jinah Park and Shahi Bagh. The main Saddar Bazar will be closed for all kind of traffic following the three days of Eid-ul-Azha. Likewise the main entry points of Khyber Bazar and Qissa Khwani Bazar will also be closed for traffic which aimed to avert the threats of any major bomb blast.
