Galyat must be developed to attract more tourists: Khattak

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak, has directed the concerned authorities to launch a comprehensive plan for provision of better health, education, and other basic amenities in the Galyat, to make it more attractive for tourists. Similarly, he underlined the need for exploring and developing more tourist spots and scenic valleys under "New Galyat" project to provide extra tourism facilities for the local and foreign tourists and attract more investment over here in the private sector. 

He asked for hiring consultants of international repute to prepare a comprehensive plan of the Galyat requirements and implement it accordingly. He was chairing a meeting of the Board of Authorities of Galyat Development Authority (GDA) at CM Secretariat Peshawar, while taking a serious exception to environmental pollution, encroachments, traffic issues, scarcity of clean drinking water and insufficient basic facilities for locals including health and education in Galyat, and necessary decision were taken for their resolution. 

Provincial Minister for LG&RD Inayatullah, Economic Advisor to Chief Minister RafaqatUllah Baber, MNA of the area Dr Azhar Jadoon, MPA Sardar Muhammad Idrees, Chief Secretary Muhammad Shehzad Arbab, DG GDA Nazar Hussain Shah, Commissioner Hazara, and administrative secretaries of the concerned departments attended the meeting. Khattak also took cognisance of encroachments in Galyat and asked the Commissioner Hazara and GDA to remove all encroachments without fear or favour. He also directed all the construction works in Galyat be carried out under building codes.
