ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said leader of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Imran Khan better focus on taking initiatives to improve living conditions of people and maintaining law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In a statement, the Information Minister said instead of spending his time on giving advice to the federal government, Imran Khan should better pay attention on good governance in the province where his party is in power. He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are facing various social and economic problems which need immediate attention of the provincial government.
The federal government does not believe in empty talks but has taken a number of steps to bring a positive change in the lives of people, the Minister added.
He said the federal government is leading by example and has taken a number of initiatives to cut unnecessary spending and keep public expenditure in check.
The steps include abolishing of secret and discretionary funds, reduction of government expenditure by 30 percent and cut in Prime Minister House budget by 50 percent, he noted.
He said an entourage which went with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the United States was the smallest ever.
