KP minister disqualified over fake degree

ABBOTTABAD: The Abbottabad election tribunal Friday disqualified Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister and member of provincial assembly Yousaf Ayub in a fake degree case on Friday. Yousaf Ayub was the candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from PK-50 constituency of Haripur 2, and was elected as the member of provincial assembly in the general elections this year. The election tribunal disqualified him in a fake degree case. Ayub's opponent from PK-50 Qazi Muhammad Asad of the PML-N had filed a writ regarding the BA degree of Ayub. The tribunal has directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to hold bye-election in this constituency. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) had sent Ayub's degree to the Punjab University for verification, following the instructions from the Election Commission Tribunal. After verification, Ayub's degree was declared fake.
