KPK to appoint 550 paramedics, 75 specialist docs

PESHAWAR - The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Health Department will appoint 550 paramedics and 75 specialist doctors. This was decided in a meeting with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in the chair. The meeting also decided to release Rs 50 million for the completion of Burn Hospital in Peshawar and planned to build three more burn hospitals in Chitral, Bannu and Dir (Lower) with the financial assistance of a German firm, GIZ. Addressing the meeting, the chief minister vowed to better hospital condition across the province. Khattak issued directives to step up efforts to win war on dengue in Swat and emphasised the need for public awareness. He issued directives to constitute teams to monitor performance of hospitals and dispensaries in the province. He issued directives to obtain 80-canal land for the proposed Indus Hospital on any side of GT Road.
