MARDAN, Pakistan – Police in Mardan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, October 9 killed three kidnappers and rescued a hostage from their hideout, media reported.
A shootout broke out in the Ashrafabad area when police stormed the hideout to rescue Mohammad Hussain, 65, who was abducted five days ago for a Rs. 50m (US $47,000) ransom, police officer Enam Jan said.
Officers returned the kidnappers' fire and killed them all, he added.
