Official takes notice of poor conditions at children hospital

PESHAWAR: Taking note of the reports about dilapidated condition of the Safwat Ghayur Children Hospital in Haji Camp area, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief secretary has sought report from the hospital administration.Through a letter, Chief Secretary Arbab Shehzad sought report on the condition of the lone public sector children hospital in the provincial metropolis, which according to the residents, has become a ‘ghost hospital’ due to the negligence of the administration. The residents of Gulshan Colony and Faisal Colony staged sit-in in front of the provincial health minister’s office the other day and protested against the alleged commission mafia operating in the hospital. They said besides mismanagement and dilapidated condition, the hospital lacks medicines.They appealed Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Health Minister Shaukat Ali Yousafzai to personally look into the matter.
