Teachers real asset of nation

Sunday, October 13, 2013 : SwabiSenior Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sirajul Haq Saturday said that a teacher has a big role in society building and encouraging and facilitating teachers would ensure further development, prosperity and progress. He expressed these views during a meeting a teacher’s delegation led by President All Teachers Association, Abdul Latif. The other members of the delegation included Swabi President, Haider Zaman, Ijaz Ahmad, Hamad Ali, Imtiaz, Gohar Zaman and other teachers.

Sirajul Haq said that secret of the prosperous society in education and development is behind its teacher’s satisfaction, adding that it is in fact education which has a key role in nations’ development. 

The delegation told the Senior Minister about various issues regarding promotions, closure of CP Fund, Teacher’s Foundation and reforms in service rules. Senior Minister assured to provide all legal rights to teachers. 

We would like to acknowledge and commend the role played by teachers in the socio-economic development of Pakistan. Teachers have been, are, and will remain the torch bearers of knowledge and social change—they nurture and inspire the future generations.

This is vital for bringing peace and democratic stability, for creating jobs and achieving economic development, and for creating respect and harmony between boys and girls, men and women, different beliefs, and ethnic groups, Siraj-ul-Haq remarked. Siraj-ul-Haq paid glaring tribute toteachers and said that the government has taken initiatives for betterment of teachers. He said that the government would recruit teachers on merit.

He said that Teachers Training Program has been initiated to enhance professional capacity of the teachers so that they could bring prosperity to the country. He ensured the delegation that the government must play a supportive role for teachers and solve their problems on priority. He said that teachers must act like missionaries for spreading education. They should persuade communities to get their children educated and give them chance to live better lives.
