Dialogue not war solution to problems: Khattak

QUETTA: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak, has said that the war is no a solution to our problems, saying that it has claimed thousands of lives.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Pervez Khattak said that people just want peace, which can be restored through dialogues.
He said that all political forces are on the same page over the issue of talks with militants. “We request the federal government to pursue the peace process and make it result-oriented,” he said.

He said that the Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf (PTI’s) policy on terrorism and militancy is obvious for the outset, it wants restoration of peace.

He vowed to introduce a governance system in his province against ‘plunderers’ and ‘dacoits’.

The Chief Minister called for an end to missile strikes in Pakistan and stressed the need for dialogues with militants to restore peace.

He said that US missile strikes must end now. He said that the war is not the solution to our problems, it has claimed thousands of lives, adding that people just want peace which can be restored through dialogues.

He said “Balochs are our brothers and we can not leave them in this hour of trial.”

He said that the war against terrorism has been in progress in the country for ten years and now Pakistan would have to steer itself out from this war so that peace could be restored in the country.
