Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Lieutenant General Abdul Qadir Baloch (Retd) called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah at Governor's House, Peshawar here on Friday. They discussed matters pertaining to well-being of people of the province. The prevailing situation in Fata with special focus on pace of progress with regard to repatriation of IDPs; rehabilitation arrangements coupled with the ongoing development programmes in various tribal agencies and Frontier Regions came under discussion.
The pace of progress on the ongoing reforms process both in respect of strengthening of administrative machinery and ensuring protection of basic rights of the people was also discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor while highlighting the priority aspects of the development activities in Fata said that special focus had been placed on completion of ongoing development schemes and as a result, most of the projects, lingering on since long had been completed and by the end of the current financial year. The governor said that while maintaining promotion of education and healthcare facilities in entire Fata as priority programmes, special measures would be continued to promote economic activities and generate employment opportunities for the respective people. In this connection, he also mentioned the recently inaugurated Momand Marble City project.
