PESHAWAR: By the orders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police, at least 81 policemen have been suspended in Mardan and Dera Ismail Khan districts on the charges of corruption and incompetence.
The IGP had ordered inquiry and phase-wise dismissal of the corrupt cops. During the campaign, 24 policemen were suspended on Saturday in Mardan Range.
These included five inspectors, six sub-inspectors, nine assistant sub-inspectors and four other officials. In the Dera Ismail Khan Range, 57 police officials of different ranks were suspended on corruption charges.
The suspended officials included four inspectors, five sub-inspectors, six assistant sub-inspectors and 32 others.
An inquiry was also ordered against them. The dismissal procedure of the corrupt cops will complete in three phases.
