PA discusses amendments in proposed RTI Bill

Friday, October 04, 2013 - Peshawar : A meeting of the Select Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly for Right to Information was held here in the Conference Room of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat with Provincial Minister for Information, Shah Farman in the chair here on Thursday. Besides, Deputy Speaker, Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Israrullah Khan Gandapore, members provincial assembly, Syed Jaffar Shah, Shah Hussein Khan, Arbab Akbar Hayat, Amna Sardar, Qurban Ali, the meeting was attended by Secretary Information Azmat Hanif Orakzai and Secretary Law, Mohammad Arifeen and other officers concerned. The meeting discussed in detailed the access of a common man to information, establishment of good governance, transparency and improvement in democracy. Necessary amendments in the proposed Right to Information Bill also come under discussion in the meeting. The meeting also discussed matters relating to the constitution of Information Commission according to which age of the retired judge of high court will be less than 65 years. The second member of the commission will be a senior high court lawyer qualified for the post of the high court judge on the basis of his experience, education. APP
