X-Ray machine of KTH?children Ward out of order

PESHAWAR: Despite assurance by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to make the out of order machines at the hospitals functional, Khyber Teaching Hospital's one million rupees portable x-ray machine is placed in the store room for the last four years and still not repaired. A doctor of the children ward of Khyber Teaching Hospital on the condition of anonymity said that because of the lack of portable x-ray machine in children ward not only the patients were facing problems but the staff of the hospital were also facing problems. He further said that as there were no x-ray machine in children ward so every time x-ray machine were brought from Radiology department of the hospital, adding that sometimes because of the rush of the patients in Radiology department the x-ray machines were not available as they were waiting for long hours which were affecting the treatment of the children. He said that x-rays of around 1o children were done daily in children ward but still the hospital administration was doing nothing to provide the much needed X-ray machine or at least make arrangements for the repair of the out of order machine. When contacted to Khyber Teaching Hospital Chief Executive Dr. Inayat Shah Roghani and MS of KTH Dr. Zafar Afridi both the officials cell phones were continuously were going off.
