KPK to provide stipend to unemployed graduates

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Paktunkhwa government has announced of awarding a monthly indemnity to the unemployed youth, a private news channel reported.

Advisor to Chief Minister for Higher Education, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani while talking to media announced on Saturday that the KPK government will be awarding Rs 2,000 indemnity every month to the unemployed graduates in the province having completed their 16-year of education.

The monthly stipend will be given to the jobless graduates until they land a job, added the advisor.

Ghani further said that the KPK government has initiated the implementation of uniform educational system in the province.

However, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly’s newly-launched website with systematically arranged and updated information is a pleasant surprise with interesting info-graphics and details about assembly business.

The new website of the assembly was launched on April 11 and contains a treasure trove of updated information about legislative and non-legislative business of the house, its workings and members.

“We have attempted to bring uniqueness in every aspect,” said the assembly’s additional secretary and director IT Attaullah Khan.

KPK govt to launch Green Peshawar Project soon

PESHAWAR: After completion of clean Peshawar drive in the city, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to launch ‘Green Peshawar Project’ from February 2014.

The announcement was made in a price distribution ceremony held in Peshawar Bagh Narran area. The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan, Director General Peshawar Development Authority Sarir Ahmad.

Addressing on the occasion, Inayatullah Khan said that he is thankful of all the employees who contributed in the cleanliness drive in Peshawar and timely removed all animal wastes and opal from Peshawar city areas. He said that cleanliness is an integral part of their religion and also teaching of Islam.

TCKP organises cleanup day at Saiful Maluk Lake

MANSEHRA: The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) on Sunday organised a cleanup day at the Saiful Maluk Lake to preserve its natural beauty.

The event of cleaning the lake, which was part of a series of events being organised in Hazara by the TCKP to raise awareness and preserve the natural beauty and heritage of famous sites and importance of pollution free environment, was attended by over 150 people including 30 women.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beautifies Peshawar

PESHAWAR:The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is working to beautify the provincial capital.

Peshawar residents walk past demolished cabins and shops under the Faqirabad Bridge October 2. The Municipal Corporation of Peshawar has launched a drive against illegal construction to beautify the city.

Terror attacks have hampered development projects in Peshawar, but the KP government won't let Pakistan's war with militants delay the implementation of the city's "Clean and Green Peshawar" campaign, officials say.

"This war and terrorism will end one day, and tourists from all over the world will start visiting this historic city again," Shiraz Paracha, spokesman for KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, told Central Asia Online.

KP is carrying out the improvements in two phases. First, workers will clean up streets and roads. Next, they will repair damaged parts of the city and create a green belt, by planting trees from the junction of Ring Road and Grand Trunk Road to Hayatabad on University Road.

Malakand Levies to have modern equipment

BATKHELA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Department Secretary Akhtar Ali Shah on Tuesday said state-of-the-art equipment would be made available to the Malakand Levies with the support of the federal and provincial governments.

Pakistani officials and authorities expect reforms to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's tourism sector to revitalise the industry and bring in revenues lost to the militancy.

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Railways (PR) and the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) are working to bring tourism back to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).Passengers at the century-old Victoria Railway station in Attock, Pakistan, disembark October 3 from an excursion train designed to promote tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Passengers on a Pakistani railway excursion between Peshawar and Attock city enjoy the scenery. The two groups October 3 operated an "Excursion Trip to Attock Khurd Railway Heritage" train voyage in an effort to portray KP's softer, tourist-friendly side.

Official sources told that a Technology of Up-gradation and Skill Development Company is being setup to enhance different skills in the youth. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has planned several development schemes for motivation and uplift of youth. Official sources told Radio Pakistan Peshawar correspondent that a Technology Up-gradation and Skill Development Company is being setup to enhance different skills in the youth enabling them to get jobs. A Khud Kifalat Interest Free Scheme is also being initiated to give interest free loans to youth to start their businesses.

Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sponsors Jashn-e-Chitral

Chitral: The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sponsored a fun filled sports event i.e Jashn-e-Chitral from 1st indigenous sports at the district level. The event was managed by the Deputy Administration Chitral and Chitral Scouts. During the inauguration the Chitral Scouts, the Police and Border police of Chitral presented the parade along with the national anthem by the students of different schools.

PESHAWAR: Health Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukat Yousafzai has said that the provincial government would establish four Burn Units in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which would start working from January.

Govt spokesman says no political motives behind transfer of DPO Mansehra

PESHAWAR (APP): A spokesman for the Khyber Pakhtunkwa Government has termed misleading the impression created by the reported protest demonstrations held in Mansehra against the government decision regarding the transfer and posting of DPO Mansehra Abdul Ghafoor Afridi. The protest demonstrations have created the impression that the police officer was transferred on external pressure for taking action against criminals. The spokesman while clarifying the factual position has stated that the decision about the transfer of Abdul Ghafoor Afridi was taken after the transfer of DIG DIKhan and his posting as CCPO Peshawar. He said that transfer and posting of Abdul Ghafoor, as DIG DIKhan was made purely on merit in the public interest keeping in view the sensitive nature of the district adding that no political motives were behind the decision.
